We have now re-opened our bakery premises, which were closed for a while for restoration. As the word implies, we haven’t made it all look brand new. On the contrary, we’ve brought out more of the premises’ old, splendid character — including the beautiful 17-century ceiling with its exposed beams. A setting that further enhances the experience of enjoying our freshly baked bread and pastries. 

We have delightful things planned for the bakery in the near future. Such as reintroducing some old favourites from years passed. So, keep an eye out for our ‘Anna-Johanna’ and ‘Clas’ bread loaves. And very soon we will resume baking raspberry cakes with our homemade raspberry jam.

Bavarian beer, sausage, sauerkraut and other goodies will be on offer during Grillska’s Octoberfest Weeks. So, come to Stortorget and enjoy the festive atmosphere! You can either reserve your seats by email or telephone, or ‘pop in’ without a booking. ‘Herzlich willkommen’ to Oktoberfest — from 23 September to 9 October! Gamla Stan boasts many beautiful courtyards. We like to think that one of the most beautiful is ours. Visiting our courtyard dining terrace is a bit like stepping into another world and time. Tranquil and pleasant — good for both body and soul. Here you can have a cup of coffee with one of our pastries, eat a deliciously cooked meal, or simply enjoy a refreshing glass of bubbly. Our courtyard dining area is perfect both for social gatherings and passers-by looking for a place to relax and let their thoughts wander off, instead.

As of today, Grillska Huset is under new management. We, its new owners, are Grillska Huset Restaurang & Konditori AB. New ownership typically means big changes — but not in this case. We think differently. We will carry on working in the same spirit as the City Mission of Stockholm — a spirit of caring for our guests, our staff, the building and its history; a spirit of caring about the food ingredients we source and traditional culinary craftsmanship. We are thrilled to announce that the entire staff of Grillska Huset have chosen to stay on with us, including Fidelia Hjelte and the building’s famous own ghost. Ms Hjelte will remain as our passionately devoted unit director.
